So for the past few weeks, I've been trying to find the Ultimate Storage Solution.
What I'm searching for has yet to be found by anyone I know,
and it goes like this:
I have about 130GB of Data (and growing),
most of it is Music, some is Photos, and the rest is Movies and documents.
I want a hosting solution that would let me access this data from wherever I go.

I would be able to stream the Music from my Cellphone,
edit the docs and what-not.

So in short:

  • It must be Unlimited
  • It must let me access the data on a regular basis (including streaming of music)
  • It must be less than 130$ / Year
  • It must support Linux (yep, i'm a linux user)

Now I've found a couple of services suggested to me, things like

Mozy - doesn't support linux and no option of streaming music

Carbonite - similar to Mozy at its cons

CrashPlan - sounded like a dream, but have yet to see a streaming option.

All of these are nice but they are more for backups (do once and forget about it),
not for accessing your own virtual cloud.

The closest thing I found is Google's Storage
It is mainly for media, it is not unlimited but you can get about 200GB for 50$ / year so it's close.
With Gspace addon you can also upload whatever files you want
Gspace also lets you sort of stream with its own Music Player (that didn't work well for me).
In fact, if Picasa worked normally on Linux AND let you upload mp3s I would probably
buy Google Storage and be done with it.

But since this is not the case, I'm still searching.
