QR Codes are useless for advertising
There’s an interesting Article at Gizmodo talking about QR codes,
and why they are not picking up as much as advertisers wish they would.
Basically I see multiple QR codes everyday when I walk to the subway
station, maybe scanned them once or twice to get a simple URL that could’ve
been written on the ad itself (or is someone too cheap to buy a dedicated domain?).
I don’t really understand why would anyone advertise with them, especially when they
contain so little data (I mean we’re talking about a 3KB at best), that you could probably
better describe your products, though it would be handy to make a QR disclaimer..
not sure if that’s legal.
At any rate, they are annoying, just keep your advertising concise, or better yet,
pray that Adblock will be developed for Google Glass 2, the contact lenses edition.
