• Linux rant & Tmux

    penguin-161387_640Most people that are involved with tech (managers, bloggers, etc) have heard of Linux, and are pretty familiar with it (unlike a decade ago when it was programmers only).
    We can see it in every server these days, but more importantly - Android is based on Linux, and those Smartphones have the majority of the market share.
    So, is Linux ready for mainstream usage? I'm talking about Laptops & Computers who run Linux for personal use, is it time?

  • Switching to Linux has never been easier

    In the past 10 years (or so), I've been taking old
    computers (desktops, laptops), and putting Linux on them.
    Mainly because Microsoft's philosophy with Windows is a very one size fits all approach, and also because Windows had a general bad reputation when it comes to old machines (security holes, anyone?).
    As for friends & family, it was also very difficult for me to convince them that if they'll switch, they could get 2+ more years out of their machines.

  • Change to Specific keyboard layout shortcuts

    In my computer, I have 4 languages installed.
    Because of that reason, it's getting rather tedious switching between
    all the languages with Alt+Shift until I reach the right language.
    After a short research online I discovered that there's a command that does that.
    To that command I can attach a shortcut (on XFCE via Menu>Settings>Keyboard>Application Shortcuts)
